Pipedream is an automation platform built for people who like to mix prebuilt actions with their own code. The connection from DynamiHost is one webhook: DynamiHost sends the scan.created event to Pipedream every time one of your dynamic codes is scanned, and your workflow takes it from there.
What you need
- A DynamiHost plan with webhooks: Trial, Pro or Business. If the Webhooks page in your dashboard shows a locked message, your plan does not include webhooks yet.
- A Pipedream account.
Step 1: Get a webhook URL from Pipedream
- In Pipedream, create a new workflow.
- For the trigger, choose HTTP / Webhook and pick New Requests.
- Pipedream generates a unique endpoint URL for the workflow. Copy it.
Step 2: Add the URL in DynamiHost
- Open Webhooks in the dashboard and click Add endpoint.
- Paste the URL from Pipedream and select the scan.created event.
- Save, then copy the signing secret shown once for the endpoint. A code step in the workflow can verify it: the Integrations page in the dashboard has ready-made Node and Python snippets for the check.
Step 3: Test the connection
On the Webhooks page, click Send test on your new endpoint. The test delivery appears as the workflow's trigger event, and Pipedream inspects the payload so you can reference its fields in later steps. Then scan one of your codes with your phone and watch the real event follow.
What arrives
Every delivery is the scan.created event: the code's id, short code and name, the scan time, and, when known, the country, city, device, operating system, browser and referrer. The full payload format, signature verification, retries and the automatic disable rule are covered in Webhooks: get notified on every scan in this help centre.
Automation ideas
- Append scans to Google Sheets or Airtable for a running campaign log.
- Send a Slack message when a code passes a scan milestone.
- Enrich the scan with your own API calls in a code step, then store the result in a database.
