Workato is an enterprise automation platform, usually run by a company's IT or operations team. The connection from DynamiHost is one webhook: DynamiHost sends the scan.created event to Workato every time one of your dynamic codes is scanned, and your recipe takes it from there.
What you need
- A DynamiHost plan with webhooks: Trial, Pro or Business. If the Webhooks page in your dashboard shows a locked message, your plan does not include webhooks yet.
- A Workato workspace, and permission in it to create recipes.
Step 1: Get a webhook URL from Workato
- In Workato, create a new recipe.
- For the trigger, choose the Webhook trigger (a custom webhook trigger in the recipe's app selection).
- Workato shows the recipe's webhook address. Copy it.
Step 2: Add the URL in DynamiHost
- Open Webhooks in the dashboard and click Add endpoint.
- Paste the address from Workato and select the scan.created event.
- Save, then copy the signing secret shown once for the endpoint. You only need it if you verify signatures inside the recipe.
Step 3: Test the connection
On the Webhooks page, click Send test on your new endpoint. In Workato, use the recipe's test run to see the sample payload mapped as the trigger output, then start the recipe. Scan one of your codes with your phone and watch the real event follow in the recipe's job history.
What arrives
Every delivery is the scan.created event: the code's id, short code and name, the scan time, and, when known, the country, city, device, operating system, browser and referrer. The full payload format, signature verification, retries and the automatic disable rule are covered in Webhooks: get notified on every scan in this help centre.
Automation ideas
- Create or update records in Salesforce, NetSuite or your data warehouse on every scan.
- Post scan notifications to Slack or Microsoft Teams for the team that owns the campaign.
- Feed scans into your company's reporting pipeline alongside the rest of your marketing data.
