Two limits, both enforced

Every API call counts against two plan limits at the same time:

  • A per-minute rate, which smooths bursts.
  • A monthly quota, which caps total calls per calendar month (UTC).
  • Starter: 75 per minute, 5,000 per month.
  • Growth: 150 per minute, 25,000 per month.
  • Pro: 300 per minute, 100,000 per month.
  • Business: 600 per minute, unlimited per month.

The API is a paid-plan feature and is not included on the Trial plan.

How counting works

Calls are counted per API key and per account at the same time. Creating a second key does not multiply your allowance: the account total is what matters, and all keys on the account share it. Failed authentications and calls rejected for other reasons may also count, so fix failing integrations promptly.

When you reach a limit

The API answers 429 Too Many Requests. A per-minute limit clears at the start of the next minute; a monthly quota resets on the first of the month (UTC). There is no partial credit and no rollover of unused calls.

Staying under the limit

  • Cache responses you reuse, especially code and analytics reads.
  • Prefer list endpoints with pagination over one call per object.
  • Watch the usage meters on the Billing page; they show this month's calls against your quota.

If you regularly approach the cap, the next plan up is usually cheaper than engineering around it.
