Smart rules let one printed code forward different scanners to different destinations. Rules are checked in order on every scan, and the first matching rule wins.
What you can route on
- Device: phone vs tablet vs desktop, or by operating system. Example: iPhone scanners to the App Store listing, everyone else to the web app.
- Country: send each market to its local page, language or store.
- Language: match the scanner's browser language to your translated pages.
- Time: route by hour of day or day of week. Example: a restaurant code that opens the lunch menu at midday and the dinner menu in the evening.
How to set them up
- Open the code and find Smart rules.
- Add a rule: pick the condition, then the destination for scanners who match it.
- Order matters. Drag specific rules above general ones.
- Keep a sensible default destination for everyone who matches no rule. A code always needs one.
Test each rule the way it will be hit: change your phone's language, or scan outside the time window, and confirm you land where that scanner should. Rules fail silently when they are ordered wrong, and the default destination hides the mistake.
